Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Dans la rue has continued to offer essential support to homeless and at-risk youth.

Although some of our services are still temporarily on hiatus because of the high risk of spreading the coronavirus, we are pleased to announce the Van will be resuming normal service as of July 2.

To facilitate the transition from emergency to regular operations, the City of Montreal will be providing bagged meals to be handed out in “window service” mode at each of the Van’s stops for July.

Van schedule and stops – Every night except Tuesdays and Saturdays

Morgan and Sainte-Catherine: 8:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
Langelier metro station: 9 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.
Frontenac metro station: 9:30 p.m. to 10:10 p.m.
Mont-Royal and Saint-Hubert: 10:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.
Berri and De Maisonneuve: 11:30 p.m. to 12:15 a.m.

Note that the Bunker (our emergency shelter) and the Day Centre cafeteria are also open. Youth can eat takeout meals on site as long as they adhere to government-issued social distancing rules. We hope to start back our hot meal service soon. Our laundry and shower facilities are also available for youth to use.

Corporate volunteering activities and donor and partner visits to Dans la rue will continue to be on hold until further notice. Dropoffs and pickups of food and other supplies donated by third parties are also temporarily suspended, except in cases of large quantities of pandemic-related necessities. For further information, feel free to write us at dons@danslarue.org.

Please remember that:

  • In all our facilities, handwashing is mandatory, surfaces are cleaned frequently and a safe distance must be maintained between people at all times.
  • Dans la rue complies with instructions from government and public health authorities and attends virtual meetings held by the Service régional des activités communautaires et de l’itinérance in order to carefully monitor the status of the situation.

In these unprecedented times, we would remind you that every donation counts in helping us continue to offer our services and fight youth homelessness.
