Our volunteers mean the world to us

Volunteerism has been the cornerstone of Dans la rue since its inception in 1988.

Father Emmet Johns, better known as “Pops,” founded the organization along with a handful of volunteers dedicated to improving the lives of homeless youth.

More than 25 years later, the organization has grown to include a wide range of services for marginalized youth, none of which would be possible without our volunteers’ generous gift of time and energy.

How to get involved?

Volunteers enhance nearly all the programs offered in our organization, such as the depot, the kitchen, our onsite school and art room, the Van and the veterinary clinics. Volunteers help us make the difference.
