The Van
The Van represents an important first step in the long process of building trust with the youth and is often their first point of contact with Dans la rue.
The Van is a bus that offers a safe, warm break from the street for homeless and at-risk youth. It provides the following services:
• Support, guidance and someone to listen
• Meals and bags of non-perishable food
• Donations of warm clothing and basic necessities
In addition to providing a brief escape from life on the streets, the Van’s volunteers also refer youth to appropriate resources.
Van’s schedule
5 nights per week – All nights except Tuesdays and Saturdays.
- Ste-Catherine St. and Morgan Av. : 8:15 p.m. – 9 p.m.
- Gascon Avenue and Ontario St. : 9:15 p.pm. – 10 p.m.
- Ste-Catherine St. and De Lorimier Av. : 10:15 p.m. – 11 p.m.
