A rewarding collaboration
Young people who use Dans la rue’s art room were given the opportunity to take part in a cultural mediation project in partnership with the visual arts centre Fonderie Darling, with the support of the City of Montreal.
As part of this initiative, various artists led workshops that allowed youth to explore artistic techniques, create their own art and discover the inner spark to that will help reignite their hope for the future. They had the chance to experiment with button making, screen printing, papermaking with Atelier Retailles and the creation of musical instruments.
Relationships Beyond Life on the Streets
This collaboration with Fonderie Darling will pave the way for new forms of expression and enable youth to build connections with the artistic community. It is also a valuable opportunity to establish relationships beyond life on the streets.
When Art Becomes a Universal Language
The art room at Dans la rue is a warm and welcoming space where young people can express their creativity and emotions while connecting with others through a shared passion. It is a place where art becomes a universal language, fostering discussions on topics that might otherwise be difficult to address. Workshops in the art room encourage personal growth, boost self-esteem and serve as a source of motivation.
