Given the risk of spreading the coronavirus (COVID-19), Dans la rue would like to inform the public that the following measures have been implemented in order to continue to offer select services while reducing the risk to homeless youth, staff, volunteers and partners:
- Mandatory handwashing, frequent disinfection of surfaces and physical distancing rules are in effect at all our facilities.
- Mask must be worn at all times.
Temporarily suspended services
Until further notice:
- All volunteer activities and donor/partner visits are discontinued.
- Music room is closed.
- Our veterinary outreach clinic is closed.
We are carefully following the instructions issued by government and public health authorities. We are also taking part in virtual meetings with the Service régional des activités communautaires et de l’itinérance to monitor developments as they rise.
Schedules have changed and the Day Centre is now open Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
The cafeteria offers full nutritionally balanced hot meals from Monday to Friday, starting at noon (can be eaten on site or taken out). The usual capacity of 72 youth has been reduced to 25 in order to comply with the physical distancing rules advocated by the government.

We can now accommodate 9 students at a time inour classroom.
Our new team is made up of two school counsellors and a teacher (CREP) who work together to meet the specialized needs of youth at risk of homelessness.
