A jiu-jitsu marathon to transform youth lives

Groupe de participants au marathon Brigada Jiu Jitsu 2.0

The Brigada family takes action

On May 3, 2025, the Brigada Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community, located in the heart of the Centre-Sud neighborhood, demonstrated the power of sport when it is put to work for a cause.

During its second annual jiu-jitsu marathon, the school and its many partners raised nearly $12,000 for Dans la rue.

A physical… and human challenge

Since 2018, Brigada has been bringing together a passionate community around Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and for the past two years, its members have been participating in a very special “marathon.” It consists of 168 minutes of continuous fighting in an electric atmosphere, where courage, perseverance, and team spirit reign supreme.

As part of this fundraiser, each participant takes on this challenge with their own sponsors—families, friends, colleagues—making the event a driving force for community involvement.

This year, more than 75 participants answered the call!

A huge thank you to a committed community

This edition was a success thanks to the generous involvement of dozens of members, partners, and creators.

Thanks to them, Marathon 2.0 was able to, among other things:

  • Contribute directly to providing meals, shelter, psychosocial support, and essential resources;
  • Support an organization that has been deeply rooted in the Centre-Sud neighborhood for over 35 years;
  • Give young people concrete tools to rebuild their lives and imagine a different future.

This day was much more than just a sporting challenge: it was a gesture of solidarity that benefited the entire community, and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
