The Quebec government has announced $94,500 in funding for Dans la rue’s ASPIRE project. This support will make it possible to continue and enhance the support provided to youth in the child welfare system, with the aim of promoting their stability, independence, and transition to adulthood.

As Québec’s July 1 moving day approaches, Dans la rue is shining a light on a less visible reality: housing instability among vulnerable youth. More than just a roof over their heads, stable housing provides a sense of security, supports well-being, education and employment, and helps young people rebuild lasting connections. Aïssata has been an administrative volunteer since 2021 and helps ensure the smooth operation of Dans la rue every week. Through her diligent and unassuming work, she supports the teams and enables the organization to continue its mission of serving young people.

A volunteer with Dans la rue since 2018, Sophie has consistently shown dedication and kindness. Whether in the kitchen or helping young people find employment, she embodies the power of community bonds and long-term commitment.

A law student and volunteer at Dans la rue, Aly provides young people with their first point of contact with the legal system. Through her attentiveness, thoroughness, and ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms, she helps make justice more accessible to people in vulnerable situations.

A volunteer with Dans la rue for the past three years, Patrick is a constant and deeply compassionate presence. As a driver for the Van and a co-team leader, he reaches out to young people with respect, dedication, and kindness.
