The new Van 100% powered by natural gas

Dans la rue’s new ecological Van has finally arrived.

Dans la rue reduces its environmental footprint

By purchasing renewable natural gas (RNG), an energy source produced by recycling organic waste, Dans la rue is reducing its fossil fuel-based GHG emissions. Supported by the ALDO Group, Énergir, and the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation, the purchase of RNG equivalent to the Van’s consumption now contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and combating global warming.

Support for making choices that can contribute to the fight against climate change

From the very beginning of the vehicle purchase process, the support of our partner Énergir has been invaluable. The interior modifications and the choice of GNR would not have been possible without their expertise.

The support of the ALDO Group, the Marcelle Foundation, and Jean Coutu was also indispensable to this project. In 2019, Dans la rue was proud to be the recipient of the proceeds of the ALDO Group’s “Purpose Ride,” which raised $104,570 to partially fund the purchase of the new Van.

Support to help homeless youth

Moreover, the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation stepped up their support for Dans la rue in 2019, with a multiyear partnership to help fund the new Van’s operations. This will help ensure homeless youth have access to basic necessities.

The Van plays an important role for youth of all ages who are socially isolated, vulnerable and struggling.
