Giving a Voice to Youth
Congratulations to Nicolas and Geneviève, who have joined Coalition Jeunes+ to help find solutions to homelessness and advocate for the rights of youth. They spoke about their own experience during an interview with journalist Gabriel Ouimet from 24 H.
“This one landlord actually agreed to meet with me even though he knew I lived on the street and I had told him about my background. He said he didn’t mind that I was receiving financial assistance, as long as I paid my rent every month. He even waived the credit check.”
– Geneviève Caron
“If I hadn’t had my best friend, I wouldn’t be here now.”
– Nicolas Leclair
Every Bit Counts in the Fight Against Homelessness
“Even the smallest things can make a big difference in the transition away from homelessness. As the homeless numbers continue to rise in Montreal and across Quebec, we hear time and time again how a nudge in the right direction at the right time can make all the difference in getting off the street.”
– 24 H (translated)
