Volunteer Profile of Eddie: 19 years of generosity
Here’s what he had to say about his long-time service to youth:
«The young people I’ve met at the Van have taught me a lot about surviving on the street, the difficulties they have gone through and how hard they have to fight every day to keep going. In 19 years, I’ve seen a lot of youth come and go, but I’ve always made sure to treat each one of them with respect.»

Volunteers like Eddie are responsible for operating the Van. They are the reason we can stop at four different areas of the city five nights a week. Their incredible generosity makes it possible for the Van to be the first point of contact for many youth. Although they drop in to get a bite to eat or stock up on necessities, the warm greeting and sympathetic ear they receive are vital in building the trust that can eventually help them move forward.
An invaluable contribution to the youth in difficulty
Those on the receiving end of our services regularly tell us how grateful they are to the volunteers who welcome them with open arms. Our volunteers are an integral part of our organization. We would not be able to carry on Pops’ mission without them.
