Easter: A Time of Sharing

On Sunday, April 5, Dans la rue staff and volunteers hosted an Easter brunch, celebrating connection, compassion and togetherness. It was an opportunity for our teams and the youth we serve to share a meaningful moment and tuck into some delicious food prepared with TLC.

Like other such meals throughout the year, especially at Christmastime, several of our long-time volunteers were on hand, bringing an attentive and comforting presence to the festivities.

Volunteer testimonials

“It’s an incredibly positive environment, and that’s why I love coming here to chat with the kids.”
– Keith, a volunteer on the Van who was volunteering for the first time at the Easter brunch

“I think it’s important to give back. It warms my heart to see the young people here.”
– Paul, a volunteer on the Van

An uplifting experience for everyone

Beyond enjoying a wonderful meal together, the guests were touched by the spirit of community that filled the room. The warm, caring and safe environment provided a welcome break to those whose day-to-day lives can be challenging.

The words, smiles and resilience of these youth resonated deeply with Dans la rue’s employees and volunteers, making this an occasion they will not soon forget.

We are profoundly grateful for the trust and courage of these young people, and for the commitment and incredible generosity of our teams and our volunteers. Together, we are creating moments that matter.
