Fernand Brouillette is a major donor who has faced some of the same challenges as the youth supported by Dans la rue. He grew up in poverty and had to learn early how to be resourceful. As a child, he started selling all sorts of things to make money.
It was this natural talent for business that would eventually help him overcome adversity and build a stable and fulfilling life.
These days, he chooses to support young people by giving to Dans la rue. He sees it as a simple and natural way of reminding those experiencing hardship that a caring community is standing behind them and giving them the strength to keep going.

He is a strong believer in the power of human connection. He feels that when young people are heard, supported and offered new possibilities, they can begin to move toward a more promising future.
“With the help of the counsellors, psychologists and teachers at Dans la rue, they can rise above their current circumstances and change their lives.”
Through his donation, Fernand is not only giving them a helping hand but he is also making peace with his own past and showing that difficulties can be overcome through resilience and kindness.
